Accounting

Accounting is the process of recording, analyzing, and reporting a business's financial transactions, cash flows, and performance. It also involves summarizing and consolidating this information to make it clear and understandable for owners and for the preparation of tax returns.

Business Expense

Business expenses are costs incurred in the ordinary course of business. Every business, from the smallest corner store to the largest corporation, tracks these expenses throughout the year for tax purposes. Business expenses are subtracted from revenue to arrive at a company's taxable net income.

Bottom Line

The bottom line in business is the amount of money a company has left after all expenses have been paid, also known as net profit or net income. It's the final line on a company's income statement and is calculated by subtracting expenses from revenues. These expenses can include interest charges, general and administrative costs, and income taxes.
